Wedding Photographer covering Herts, Beds Bucks and beyond.

Picking a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions when planning your wedding. The images taken on your wedding day are your lasting record of the event. They are something to treasure and keep, and something that you, your family and friends will look at time and time again.

It’s no small feat photographing a wedding as any good wedding photographer will tell you. It’s just as much about good planning as it is good pictures and in my book it’s that planning that makes for a relaxed bride, groom, guests and the best memento of your day.

I like to tell a story on your wedding day. Starting with bridal (and groom) preparation, I photograph all those little details from the flowers, your dress and jewellery to the fun of getting ready with your bridesmaids.

Before the ceremony I photograph, the groom, the rings, the location, the best man and those classic pre-wedding images through to the brides arrival. If there is one ingredient that that makes for great shots on your wedding day then it is “Fun” followed by “planning”.

On the brides arrival, I photograph the car and most importantly you, as well as whoever is giving you away. If its wet I always carry half a dozen white umbrellas just in case!

During the planning of your wedding day I will have already visited your wedding locations and spoken with the registrar or priest as each have their own rules and regulations regards photography. I try not to use any flash during your ceremony and like to be as invisible as possible but still photograph walking down the isle, exchange of the rings, your first kiss, signing of the register, and any post ceremony shots as well as shooting candid images throughout.

After the ceremony if I can also steel you both away for 40 minutes then this is a good time to get some beautiful imagery of just the two of you in a variety of poses. This also gives you a break while your friends and family talk and have a drink. If you have a wedding car then I shoot you both in the vehicle, with champagne. That is always a great shot.

Group shots are an important part of the day and in our pre-wedding meeting we would have worked out any shots that you want. This not only makes it a no brainer on the day but also makes sure people are not standing around too long waiting for their group photography. I organise this working with the best man and this can be done at any time in the day.

Throughout your day I also photograph many candid images and always keep my eye out for people having fun.

At the wedding breakfast I always cover your announcement as newly married, the speeches and I cover all tables usually using wide angles as its never good to get close ups of people eating. Even if you are the Cadburys flake girl!

Towards the end of the breakfast and before the all important cutting of the cake and first dance, I like to spend another half hour outside with you both. The lighting towards the end of the day is usually great and this is an ideal time to get some shots. Using doorways, staircases, gardens, sunsets, you name it, these are usually some of the most beautiful shots of the day. I also carry a video light which gives beautiful shadows at dusk.

My day with you usually finishes shortly after the first dance but I never leave without talking to you both first. If you need me to cover something unexpected on the day. It’s no problem. You will find me flexible, friendly, fun and professional. After all Photography is my profession.

Images are usually delivered in to you around 4-5 weeks after your day. All images are cropped, colour balanced and edited as necessary. I upload all to your own password protected online galley and then follow up with all images in hi-resolution on a USB.
If you want albums we can design and layout albums in almost any style and size. Please see My Album blog.
