Brie at Paramount+, SXSW 2024 – Austin, Texas
In yesterday’s post, I talked about how I lined up for a pink room, and here it is. It’s one of the themed areas at Paramount+ for the Mean Girls Streaming series. I waited for a short while, got inside, and discovered they were offering a pink custom-themed alcoholic drink, one of the several free options available throughout the venue. I’ve never watched Mean Girls, but I assume there is some kind of tie-in.
I opted not to get the drink; it seemed entirely too sweet. I did, however, make a portrait of Brie outside the room. She was a Paramount+ staff member assigned to this area. I’ve only had a short interaction with her. She seemed nice and definitely not mean. I am stressing this point to not associate the name of the TV Show directly with the subject.
Brie, along with Lisa are the only two portraits I made during this year’s SXSW. A disappointingly modest number of portraits, considering I brought my portrait-oriented Sigma 90mm f2.8. However, it seemed too much of an effort to constantly switch lenses with the primary for that day, the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8. I mostly documented and did street photography for this year’s SXSW.
